Homelab Notes: Backups Before Services
A reminder that reliable homelab projects start with restore paths, not dashboards.
The restore path matters first
A service is not really self-hosted in a useful way until there is a documented restore path for its database, media, and configuration.
Keep the first version boring
Local disk is fine for small MVP media if backups are explicit. Complexity can wait until scale creates a real need.
